The winner of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 has become known.
The winner of the international Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 was the 13-year-old Pole Roxana Wengel. This year the festival was held in Minsk, and the Belarusian capital hospitably met young musicians from 20 countries of the world (a record number of participants in the entire history of the children's competition!).
Russia in the finals of the competition was represented by a resident of Barnaul, Anna Filipchuk. Despite the wonderful number, excellent vocal abilities, Anya managed to take only tenth place - so decided the audience vote and members of the national jury.
The majority of the votes went to Pole Roxane Wengel, whose performance of the song Anyone I Want To Be was voted the most impressive. The girl was solemnly awarded the main prize of the competition - a crystal microphone.
It should be noted that the victory of Roxanne was a big surprise for everyone. After the national jury announced their decisions, Roxanne was not even in the top three. Her fate was decided by the audience vote, which put the Polish girl in the first place.
The second place was taken by the French Angelina. The third was the Australian Jael Uena.
Immediately after the end of the competition, Roxana gave a press conference at which she stated that dedicated the victory to her countrywhich she loves with all her heart. It is Poland that makes a generous gift - the right to accept the “Junior Eurovision-2019”.
Roxana was the last to speak, she got the 20th number, but it didn’t bother the young singer at all, because there is a popular saying in her country that says “the latter can be the first”.
Earlier, Roxana was the winner of the first season of the national music show for children (the Polish equivalent of “Voice. Children”). It became known about the girl with amazing vocal abilities after her friends noticed how great she sings karaoke. They persuaded her to remove their own singing and put it on the Internet. The very first song of a young Polish girl gained more than 8 million views.
Vengel is currently working on his first debut album.
