It became known why children do poorly in school

The Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President conducted a study in which school teachers and parents of children were surveyed in three regions of the country. They were asked one question: Why do children go to school badly?

The overwhelming majority of teachers (almost 87%) cited as the reason for the poor performance of the child inattention of his parents to what is going on at school. Some mothers and fathers do not look in their diaries and notebooks for weeks and do not know that the child is now passing through a particular subject.

Almost 73% of teachers said that poor performance socially disadvantaged families. Almost 68% of educators expressed confidence that children study poorly because of health problems.

But do not assume that shifting responsibility to the parents, the teachers removed it from themselves. 63% of school teachers named low professionalism of their colleagues as the reason for poor child performance. Some teachers even decided to speak about the current educational programs - 15% of teachers believe that the programs are too complex, there is no clear consistency and a unified approach.

Almost half of the teachers surveyed believe that parents in recent years have become more anxious about the performance of children, especially if the children are high school students. Teachers attribute this to the fact that higher education institutions annually raise the minimum threshold for USE points for admission to budget places.

In general, according to the statistics of the Ministry of Education, today most of the children study well and excellently, and only about 13% of schoolchildren receive mostly “three”. Most excellent students in primary school. Then performance begins to decline. By grade 8-9, for example, the number of troechnik increases to 24%.

Parents ask why children study poorly, often refer to for the lack of ability of one or another school subject in favorite children. So answered 34% of moms and dads. 31% of parents complain about the modern educational program. And 26% of adults complained about the lack of interest in learning.

It is noteworthy that 14% of parents are sure that the reason lies in the absence of money, it is she who prevents them from paying additional classes to a child with tutors.

9% of parents believe that the reason for the poor performance of children lies in the lack of professionalism of teachers.

The survey was conducted in the Altai region, in the Stavropol region and the Chelyabinsk region. In each of these regions, 700 teachers and as many parents were interviewed.
