In the experiment, 60 football players took part, in whom there had not been a single case of concussion or traumatic brain injury. Their protective helmets decided to equip the telemetry system. In such helmets, the guys played and trained during the same sports season.
After that, the telemetric data of each player was taken and analyzed, and the results shocked the scientists: the effectiveness of cutting off neural connections in children has decreased significantly, the speed of the brain has almost 2 times slowed down, aggression has increased, and the congative abilities have decreased. This was also confirmed during the psychological testing of young athletes.
Researchers at the University of Texas have proposed either ban this sport for kids or change the rules of the game - reduce game time, limit the number of collisions of players and falls.
The American Football Federation has promised to study the results of the study and decide on the admissibility of changing the established rules of the game.
