Desk with drawers for the student

Content

One of the brightest attributes of school years in the life of every person is his own desk. The choice of such a seemingly simple piece of furniture depends largely on whether the child will study diligently or study will not be of any serious interest to him at all. Not even because of the dullness of the material, but because of the banal inconvenience of home study.

Special features

The desk for the student is different from any other tables. It conditionally differs from “adults” in its size - it must ideally correspond to the needs of the baby at this stage: the child should not reach out or bend over while sitting behind him. The writing desk differs from other children in its obvious orientation towards mastering the sciences, which is also indicated by convenient drawers for storing notebooks and books.

Often modern parents believe that since many of today's lessons require the use of a computer, it means that a separate desk is not needed - a computer one will do. There are a lot of mistakes in this view, because:

  • Not always training requires modern technology. But the computer will regularly distract the child from school.
  • With all the benefits of the Internet and other achievements of civilization, the child’s access to the worldwide network and to the gadgets in general is better yet to strictly restrict, and study with entertainment, respectively, to distinguish.
  • Most computer desks are designed exclusively for computer installation.they do not have enough tabletop space to do something else here.

It is permissible to use a computer desk as a written one only if it is not possible to place two tables in the room at once due to the limited space. However, in this case it is worth choosing the computer table more carefully - the smallest models will definitely not fit.

Varieties of configurations

For almost a century of mass education, designers have managed to create many variations of shapes and configurations, even for such a simple thing as an ordinary desk. For the sake of convenience, we will combine them into several groups with characteristic common features. So, desks are divided into the following groups:

  • Classic. In form and size, the tabletop of this table resembles a standard school desk. This is a great option for placement in any room, because it takes up little space, and allows either the organization of the workplace and the installation of a computer, or the simultaneous training of two children at once. Most often it comes with drawers and shelves located under the worktop, but in some models it is permissible and add-ons above her.
  • Computer with extra facilities for writing. First of all, they are convenient for using a computer, but the developers immediately responded to the massive parental demand and created models with special writing panels, that is, more spacious ones. In fact, such a table is not much different from the classic one, except that the computer will also fit there, and its keyboard will be located on a convenient sliding shelf.
  • Corner. Received its name due to the form, ideal for installation in the corner of the room. Such attention to the corners of rooms is usually found only in small apartments, and since space is small and it is saved, it is not surprising that such furniture is as versatile as possible.Often, such a table is a complete growth cabinet with shelves above the table top and drawers under it.
  • Transformers. The design of this type is the perfect answer to the question of how to choose a table in size so that the ever-growing child is always comfortable behind him. Appearance can be varied, and a key feature of any table-transformer is that the owners can independently adjust the position of the table top, its height and angle of inclination. This means that the table is adapted to the growth of the child and will always meet his current needs.
  • Retractable or folding table. Such decisions are made on the principle of ironing boards, and more often they are made with their own hands, rather than bought in a store. Such an output is very relevant for absolutely cramped spaces, because when folded, this table takes absolutely no place. Another thing is that it is not suitable for installing heavy things on it - the same computer, or even just a large number of books, but you can write on it.
  • Beds lofts. This option is still very rare, but it can look lively and modern. It is relevant in the conditions of small rooms and the presence of at least two children, then one bed is below in the middle, and to the right and left of it are desks, which are also supports for the upper bed. When choosing this type of furniture, pay special attention to the strength of materials and the overall reliability of the design.

Dimensions

For many parents, the shape of the table is not even as important as its size, since there are fears that it will not fit in the nursery. Especially for such consumers, it is worth conventionally dividing desks into categories according to size:

  • Not occupying space. Here we take folding tables. Keep in mind that the normal use of such a table is possible only if the entire interior of the room is thought out well enough - for the table top, you will need additional supports.
  • Small-sized. These include loft beds and corner tables. The first occupy a place quite fully, but at the same time they are also supports for the bed, that is, they share space with it, as a result of which, the desired savings are achieved. The latter, due to their non-standard form, fit well into that part of the room, where no other furniture will fall, in connection with which they are also very practical.
  • Full size. First of all, this includes classic tables and transforming tables, visually almost no different. Computer tables with additional facilities for writing could be distinguished into a separate category of large tables.

How to choose?

Parents often choose a desk for a child, based only on the size of the tabletop and cost, however, this approach is not correct - it is important to pay attention to his spaciousness, and the student’s convenience for him, and even his ability to fit normally into the children's interior. In general, the specifics of the choice is another separate topic worth exploring. Here are some factors that cannot be ignored:

  • Proper fit. The position of the tabletop is very important if you want to keep the musculoskeletal system and the child’s vision normal. When buying a table-transformer problem disappears, although it needs to be configured. The tabletop, ideally, should be at the level of the solar plexus of the sitting child, 10-15 cm above his knees. The length of the tabletop should be at least one meter per child and more than one and a half - for two, the width - from 60 to 100 cm, and if they put a computer on it - in the direction of the larger one. If shelves and drawers are also provided above the table top, make sure that they do not block the lighting.
  • Comfortable chair. All the convenience of the table can level the unsuccessfully selected chair, so you need to buy them in a set.Since the baby’s spine is still unstable and continues to form, avoid soft chairs, preferring comfortable but stiff anatomical chairs. The height requires a right angle between the thigh and shin while sitting, the back should reach approximately the middle of the shoulder blades.

The armrests are still undesirable, as they contribute to the deformation of the back. Pay much attention to the stability of the structure, because it is no secret that children love to indulge.

  • The material of the table. Of course, the best option is an array of wood, but such a product is not cheap. In this regard, MDF is a quality alternative - an equally durable and reliable, but noticeably cheaper material. Experts recommend and plastic, but pay attention - not any, carefully check the certificates and do not buy suspiciously cheap products! As for chipboard, this is the most affordable option, but it is not recommended categorically, as it is short-lived and toxic.
  • The functionality of the table. Think well, why do you need a table - just for study, or even for computer and creativity? Sometimes it's easier to buy one multifunctional table for the house and save money and space without buying an extra bedside table! However, there are also reverse examples, so do not pursue cheapness if the children's desks are not sufficiently equipped with shelves.

Interesting design solutions

Let's not leave the reader without a few vivid examples of writing a desk into the interior.

  • For example, on the first photo - it would seem an ordinary table, just a little futuristic. Actually, it is a transformer - pay attention to how the tabletop is fixed.
  • In the second photo - the most ordinary table, but here we see how thoughtfully it is combined with the interior of the room. Here, literally everything is successful - the corner table takes up little space, being located in the corner, while it is illuminated with natural light from the window and electric lighting built into the wall niche.
  • The third image demonstrates how a small table can share space with a large closet.that will not go unnoticed by those who need to make the most effective use of the meager children's space.
