Content

The life of a modern person is simplified by sets of gadgets and devices, the benefit is that the level of modern technologies has made them high-quality and practical. Changes occurred both globally and at the household level, and they affected even the most ordinary things, replacing them with more comfortable and practical ones.

Absorbing baby diapers - an integral part of the everyday life of every mother. What it is, what is the scope of their application and how to choose quality products, read our article.

What are we for?

Moisture-absorbing diapers are widely demanded in the care of newborn children and babies up to 3-4 years. Their purpose is to protect the changing table, baby cot, baby stroller and all other surfaces from getting wet.

Absorbing diapers are made from a special material that easily absorbs moisture and is able to hold it for a long time. It should be noted that these products are not suitable for swaddling. They can be used only to cover the surface on which they will place the baby.

The use of these diapers is actually unlimited. With their help, it will be convenient for the young mother to hold the baby’s toilet, take care of the baby’s skin, and treat wounds on the navel.

Now sleep without diapers on absorbing diaper will be calm. Also on it, kids can take air baths.

Often, mothers make a bed while feeding to protect against regurgitation or drops of milk. Such diapers are always useful when visiting a doctor - it will be something to lay a cold table in the doctor's office.

The surface of the moisture-absorbing diaper is pleasant to the touch, it does not irritate the delicate baby skin and does not cause allergies. Some manufacturers offer products impregnated with antibacterial agents.

Absorbable diapers simplify the care of newborns and make them more comfortable. They are always at hand during swaddling, changing a diaper or after bathing.

But the peak of demand for diapers is the time when the baby is just learning to go to the pot. In addition, these products will be simply indispensable during sleep. Children up to three years often do not control urination in a dream, and the absorbed diaper will save the child's sleep and take care of the dryness and cleanliness of the bed.

Kinds

There are two types of modern moisture-absorbing products: disposable and reusable, each of which has its own strengths and weaknesses in operation.

Disposable

Disposable moisture absorbing diapers produce different sizes. Almost all modern products have good strength and practical to use.

At the base of the diaper is an opaque material (not always woven) with a smooth, soft texture that perfectly absorbs and distributes moisture throughout the product. They can not be reused, washed and ironed.

Standard diapers can be 40 by 60, 60 by 60, 60 by 90. Even the smallest products can greatly facilitate the care of a baby. But the big ones are often in demand among expectant mothers. Diapers often take with you to the maternity hospital: they will be needed during check-ups and in the delivery room, and also protect the bed from leaks on the mattress.

The composition of disposable products from different manufacturers may vary. However, the most popular have five layers of protection:

  1. Upper. Made of antiseptic and hydrophilic material.
  2. Paper. Promotes maximum absorption.
  3. Cellulose. It is in this layer that a large part of the incoming fluid remains.Most modern manufacturers make it on the basis of superabsorbent, which increases in proportions when moisture enters.
  4. Paper. The second layer is duplicated for more reliable absorption of liquid.
  5. Film. The layer is made of a special textured film that does not let moisture through. Along the edges of the diaper is protected by limiters - an additional barrier that protects against leakage.

Of course, the main component of absorbing diapers is superabsorbent. Despite the fact that it is a synthetic filler, it is absolutely harmless to newborn babies, does not cause allergies and does not emit odor and toxic substances. The upper material is often made of cotton with the addition of polymers.

Disposable products have significant advantages:

    • fast absorption;
    • convenience and practicality in operation;
    • affordable price.

    But there is a significant drawback: in a room with a high temperature, the diapers heat up quickly, so the baby will not be very pleased to be on them.

    Reusable absorbent

    These products are a terry sealed diaper with a nice surface. From the name of the products it becomes clear that they can be reused. It should be added that reusable diapers can be washed, and even with repeated washing, their service life is quite long.

    As a rule, the top layer, as well as in disposable ones, is treated with antibacterial impregnation, in order to avoid irritation of children's skin. Some manufacturers include a dust mite protective layer in the diaper.

    Reusable moisture absorbing diapers produce different sizes. The most important thing is that they do not need to be covered with oilcloth, as the protective layer of the film reliably retains moisture inside the product.

    There are two types of reusable absorbable diapers: waterproof and absorbable. Waterproof products, as a rule, include four layers:

    • Cotton with a porous terry surface.
    • Non-woven fabric with an absorbent that absorbs moisture.
    • Waterproof microporous membrane, which is an additional barrier to the flow of fluid. The membrane texture is made so that air can circulate freely inside the product.
    • Anti-leakage film.

    Waterproof diapers consist of only 2 layers: upper terry textile and lower microporous membrane.

    They do not let moisture in - the liquid remains on the surface, slightly soaking the upper textile layer. In fact, it is a comfortable alternative to the familiar pharmacy rubber oilcloths. Of course, such products will cost much more expensive than ordinary sheets.

    But at the same time they are soft, not cold and pleasant to the touch. Lying on it, the child will not feel discomfort.

    Judging by the reviews of moms, after repeated washing, the top layer of such diapers softens and moisture is more absorbed. They are best used for short-term air baths, swaddling or massage.

    It should be noted that modern manufacturers offer a wide range of absorbable products of completely different sizes and colors. On sale can be found pink, blue, white, blue diaper.

    Some products are equipped with elastic for greater ease of operation. Of course, the cost of such diapers on an elastic band is somewhat different from ordinary products, but thanks to a more comfortable use, they completely pay off.

    How to choose?

    Before acquiring moisture absorbing diapers, you should be familiar with all the advantages and disadvantages of products. Usually, reviews of friends and acquaintances who have already tested the product play a big role in choosing. But choosing which manufacturer to give preference to, it is better to base on your own conclusions. You should focus on how the baby reacts to the diaper: whether it is convenient for him, comfortable, not hot.

    Consider the degree of absorption indicated on the label. And, of course, you need to choose diapers based on how it will be used.Depending on this, diapers of the corresponding sizes are bought.

    Today in the domestic market there are products of 3 sizes:

    • 40*60;
    • 60*60;
    • 90*60.

    The first number is the width of the diaper, the second is the length. Small products are suitable for short-term use, for example, for changing diapers. But for longer procedures it is better to give preference to larger products. For example, to use a diaper in a pram it is better to buy a product 90 * 60 cm.

    Regarding the absorbency of the diaper, this factor is influenced by the density of the absorbed ball and the quality of the absorbent.

    Diapers of different sizes have different absorbency:

    • diapers 40x60 absorb about 350-650 ml on average, and can absorb up to 750 ml as much as possible;
    • diapers 60x60 on average absorb 250-1050 ml, up to a maximum of 1100-2100 ml;
    • diaper 60x90 on average absorb up to 650-1525 ml, maximum - up to 1500-1900 ml.

    As you can see, the larger the size of the product, the higher the level of moisture resistance.

    However, using disposable or reusable diapers, you need to monitor their condition, not bringing to a deplorable state. Otherwise, it can lead to irritation, redness and itching of the baby’s skin.
