Kids garden swing: how to choose?

Content

Kindergarden swings can be both the happiest childhood memories, and deep disappointment, if they are chosen poorly and it is obvious to everyone that it could be better. We have collected a number of criteria by which we can classify and choose the swing, in order to simplify the choice of our readers as much as possible.

Kinds

Already in their appearance and type of construction, the swings for children are divided into benches and spherical. Benches - this is a whole shop, suspended under a canopy, this design has the highest strength, allows you to ride at once with the whole family or a company of friends, most often completed with a mosquito net, and even allows you to turn the seat into a practically full bed. Spherical swings are designed for a single rest, they allow you to swing at a full 360 degrees, because they are fixed on one stand, they are characterized by increased softness of the seats and a very aesthetic design.

Dimensions

The dimensions of the swing, like most other items, are indicated by three quantities, but here it is important not to confuse: the first is the width (distance between the uprights), the second is the depth and the third is the height, although according to the logic the second and third indicators should be given reverse order.

When installing in the gazebo, it is worth being guided by all the parameters - the product should fit freely without the risk of collision with walls.

If you plan to install the structure on the street, pay attention only to the width, which actually means the number of people fit. Note that the specified width is a good half meter larger than the seat, since it indicates the dimensions of the uprights.

Nevertheless, for children, much is not needed, in particular, for the whole family with one child, a width of 160-170 cm is sufficient.

Permissible load

Each swing indicates how many kilograms it can withstand - this indicator must be observed, if you do not want to break the design, and even injure yourself. Choosing a swing for a child, never be guided by its weight, because it grows very quickly, wants to take a blanket or a laptop on a swing, or even invite all friends at once. Remember also that with a strong swing, the weight of the structure seems to increase due to acceleration, so do not expect that you will manage with a product that can withstand 40-50 kg.

Design features

Rack reliability

The whole structure always rests on a metal pipe and, although it is hollow inside, its thickness matters no less than the thickness of its walls. Naturally, the more massive and larger, the more reliable, however, high reliability results in a tidy sum, but in fact such precautions are not always needed. In particular, a pipe with walls about 1 mm thick is enough for pleasant reading alone, while the diameter of the entire pipe is about 4 cm. For regular skating, fun companies will need walls of at least 1.5 mm and a pipe 5 cm in diameter and above.

Frame material

Swings themselves are made either from the same metal or from wood. Both materials are distinguished by good strength and are treated with special compounds that allow them to survive the most severe winters in outdoor conditions. With this in homemade conditions and the one and the other design necessarily equipped with soft pillowsBut if this is a public institution where there are many children and they are constantly changing, then it is better to choose a wooden version - you can ride on it without pillows, which greatly reduces the cost of washing them.

Availability of a folding back

Buy a product with this option, and you get a whole bed, peacefully swaying in a pleasant summer garden. Another thing is that such an opportunity is also worth the extra money, and it can only be called practical if the owners have time to relax on the seesaw for hours.

In fact, this is really a justified waste, except for mothers with the smallest children, and old people who are no longer in a hurry to work. Most often, this luxury is almost useless.

Pillows and care for them

The pillow provides softness and actually determines how long you can endure while sitting on a swing. The main role in softness is determined by the filler: either synthetic winterizer or foam rubber. The first one is much cheaper, it looks volumetric, but it almost does not hold the form itself, it is easily crushed under the weight of the passenger, and after using it you need to beat it up, therefore this option is not very suitable for continuous operation. Foam rubber is much better suited for daily use., able to independently take the original form after they rise from it.

The skin, of course, is also very important, because the passengers of the seat touch it: it should be soft and gentle, but at the same time strong and durable. For young children, natural wool is best suited for softness and storage of heat, but it is in vain to count on its durability. Calico is a bit stronger, and it also keeps cool, which is very good in hot summer conditions, but does not look like a big plus in cool climate conditions.

For the most active use, you need to choose polyester: although it is noticeably rougher, but only it will withstand long-term continuous operation.

If the swing is chosen for small children, the issue of maintaining cleanliness arises especially acutely. Not all types of pillows are washed equally easily. For example, sinteponovye do not provide for the removal of covers, but successfully erased entirely, but the whole foam cushions will have to be dry-cleaned. The swing with pillows fitted with removable covers for maximum comfort is most practical.

Manufacturers

There is not always time and desire to study in detail the characteristics of each model and compare them all with each other, sometimes you can simply trust trusted brands. From foreign to such include Garden4You, Ranger, GreenGard, TimeEco and Cruzo, from domestic - "Cheburashka" and "Sun".
