Watercolor markers, brushes for painting

Content

The combination of all currently available tools for drawing in various combinations allows you to create real masterpieces. However, for this the artist must be able to draw, using a large number of techniques, and have a whole arsenal of tools - pencils and felt-tip pens, crayons and pastels, different types of paints and brushes.

This is not always convenient, therefore, over time, inventions are becoming increasingly popular, allowing to combine the best features of at least two different means. These are the samples of human genius are watercolor brushes, markers for drawing.

What it is?

Creating such an innovation, the developers tried to combine in one case the main advantages of watercolor paint and a classic felt-tip pen or pencil. Judging by the appearance, these are still markers, but the writing substance inside them is, if not a watercolor in the direct sense of the word, then something very similar to it in its properties.

The specificity of the drawings created by this product lies in their similarity to both classic marker drawing with clear lines and vivid detail, as well as with watercolor paintings, with the blurring of contours typical for them and smooth color transitions.

For erosion of the resulting pattern, other similar devices are used - aqua brushes, filled with a small amount of water, which, due to the economical waste, lasts a very long time. Some manufacturers produce for such aqua brushes even a colorless solvent, which makes it very easy to achieve the finest color transitions.

In contrast to ordinary watercolor markers, brush felt-tip pens also contain a silicone bundle at the opposite end, which greatly expands the horizons of creative possibilities. This engineering solution allows you to get two tools in one case at once.

Main advantages

Contrary to its convenience, a universal remedy will never compare in quality with highly specialized. So the pen-brush - they give a very good result, but professional artists are not yet in great demand.Because they prefer classic tools for work.

However, this solution also has a number of advantages, which should be noted:

  • The ability to draw fine lines and clear contours. Such a tool is indispensable for those who still do not belong to the greatest artists of all time to write out the smallest details with a brush. In addition, with the help of such a pen, you can add details to the picture, originally painted with paints.
  • Ease of use in the open air. Many landscape artists are uncomfortable in order to carry all the numerous tools with them on nature. Watercolor markers and aqua-brush occupy very little space, and two hundred grams weigh from grams.
  • Easy paper selection. Unlike real watercolor, which, due to the large amount of water used, requires rather thick paper, watercolor markers draw on the basis of any thickness. In contrast to ordinary markers, the drawings they made are not transferred to the subsequent pages, which allows you to draw directly in the album.
  • The ability to draw on wet paper. Ordinary watercolors are often painted on wet paper, which allows you to achieve the unique effect of strong blur, "brand" for watercolor.Since in the felt-tip pens of this type, watercolor is also the main drawing substance, only they are able to paint directly on wet paper. However, on the dry, they also paint perfectly.

Manufacturers

Watercolor paint pens and brushes have recently become a fairly common occurrence, but they still should not be expected to be found in literally every store with office supplies.

While you can buy them mainly in specialized stores for artists.

Among manufacturers, traditionally, foreign companies stand out as the highest quality, and there is a certain bias towards Japanese - in particular, two relatively well-known brands from this country are listed at once: Kuretake and Sakura.

For serious classes, you should purchase their products, sold in series, respectively, ZIG Art & Graphic Twin and Koi, since these firms pay considerable attention to the development of this industry. The largest foreign manufacturers of paints in general also did not remain aloof from the process - the products of the Dutch Royal talens and english Winsor & newton deserves all-round approval.

As for Russian manufacturers, their products so far are characterized by much more modest qualities. Among domestic brands such markers produce the famous Gamma and Kalyaka-Malyaka.
