Visa for child

Content

Going abroad with a child is very interesting and informative. Impressions will be enough for all family members. However, it is important to properly prepare for the trip, otherwise it may not take place, break, and the long-awaited vacation will be hopelessly spoiled. Today we will talk about visas for children.

What is it and why is it needed?

This is a permissive document that allows you to cross the border with a particular country.. If Russia has a visa-free regime with the state where you decide to spend your vacation, consider yourself lucky. A visa in this case is not required. This concerns going to Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Argentina, the Bahamas, Brazil, Vietnam, to the Dominican Republic, to Israel, Egypt, Turkey, the Maldives and other exotic countries.

In all other cases, a visa is required. And not only at the entrance to the country, but sometimes at the exit (the so-called "exit visa"). The most time consuming in the design - Schengen visa.

Depending on the purpose of the trip, a child may be granted a transit visa (if he crosses the borders of several countries), a tourist visa (you are going on vacation), a student visa (the child has entered the school to study abroad).

Properly executed visa - a guarantee that the border control does not "wrap" you at the airport and take a vacation by the sea under palm trees or in Europe, as planned.

The rules for issuing a Schengen visa for a child can be viewed in the next video.

General rules for all children's visas

The main rule is to have an identity card, which, by age, is provided by law.

If the child is not 14 years old, he can be entered in the foreign passport of the mother or father. Naturally, provided that they have old passports, since children do not enter children at all in the new biometric documents, there is no space for these purposes.

For this reason, even a traveler up to 2 years old will be given their own passport.

Guys from 14 must have their own international passport. Children who have their own passport, sign all documents for a visa with his own hands. Until the age of 14, children cannot travel on their own; they definitely need a company of adults.

For registration of a child visa will have to pay a consular fee. In the diplomatic missions of different countries it is different (on average about 35 euros). Children under 6 years old can not pay for Schengen, since the 2010 European Agreement on the abolition of certain categories of fees for obtaining a visa has been in effect. Thus, a preschooler who does not have his own passport, the permits will cost free.

The set of documents for issuing visas to different countries may differ; before collecting papers, it is better to call the embassy of the country where you want to go and clarify the current list.

Schengen for a child

This is the most popular, but the most "troublesome" visa. It will have to arrange, if you are going to one of the countries that are united by Schengen law. The advantage is that the permission received once will allow you to move freely between the countries that are part of the agreement (and there are 26 of them) during the period of validity. By the way, according to statistics, trips to Italy, to France, to Poland, to Malta and to Spain. The United Kingdom is also a popular destination, but a Schengen visa is not required as this country does not participate in the agreement.

Documents accepts and considers the embassy. It has the right to reject your request without explaining the reasons for refusal

Reception of documents may also have its own characteristics, somewhere take copies, and somewhere only originals. Example: a Polish visa can be obtained only if you send documents in an online application on the website of the diplomatic mission, and you can never get to France if you do not submit the originals.

In Latvia, Lithuania, children do not take consular fees if they are entered in the parent's passport, and a Finnish visa is issued on the same conditions.

For how long will issue a child Schengen, depends on the purpose of travel and many other factors. This is usually three months. However, different countries have a different approach to resolving the issue: for example, a child can get permission to enter England for six months, and the English visa is not too demanding for travel purposes - it is the same for both education and tourism.

The package of documents for registration

As mentioned above, the list of documents may vary, you can find the exact one on the website of the embassy of the selected country. Usually, it includes the passports of the parents, the passport of the child, his birth certificate. If the child is not traveling with his parents, with any of his relatives or friends, with a teacher or coach, he will need to be notarized parental consent on such a journey.

Be sure to correctly fill out the form, the application. In order to avoid mistakes, a sample statement is always presented on the official website of the diplomatic mission. If the child is studying, then you need to attach a certificate from the school or gymnasium.

Since a child who travels without a mom and dad does not earn himself, a sponsorship letter from parents or another relative will be required, he will have to provide a certificate of his income and funds in a bank account.

How to fill out a visa application form can be viewed in the next video.

If the child is the holder of his own passport, the child’s signature is placed under all documents for his visa. A minor who is inscribed in the parents' documents is not required to sign anything.

What to do if only one parent is traveling

In this case, the consent of the second parent, compiled and notarized, is mandatory for passing the border control. If mother and father are divorced, consent is necessary. Such a document is not required in exceptional cases: if one of the parents has died, it will be enough to present a death certificate. If the parents are deprived of their rights, a court decision on this and a certificate from the guardianship authorities will be needed; if one of the parents is missing, it will be enough to get a certificate from the police.

Visas for children in other countries

IN USA

To travel to America, you need a special American visa. The United States takes very seriously the entry issues for minor children. The validity of the visa - 3 years. She allows to study, visit relatives, make tourist trips. Each time in the country can be no more than 180 days. It is possible to receive the document according to the standard scheme (with a mandatory interview), or it may be simplified (in absentia). The decision is made by the visa officer.

The easiest way to apply for a US visa is for a child under 14 years old if he travels with relatives who already have a valid permit to enter the United States. In this case, the procedure will be by correspondence and quick.

In all cases, the registration of a visa to America requires the notarized consent of the parents (or one parent), documents on the financial well-being of the family, a sponsorship letter, a certificate from the child’s place of study.

A video lesson on how not to get a refusal to apply for a visa in the USA can be seen in the next video.

To European countries outside the Schengen area

Speech in this case is about the states that entered the European Union, but did not support the Schengen legislation. These are Romania, Croatia, Great Britain and Bulgaria. If you travel through the UK travel, then you do not need to register anything at all - you can stay in the country without a visa for 24 hours. It's enough to show Airplane ticketwhich will confirm that you are temporarily in the country.

In Bulgaria, to apply for a visa is not necessary only if the child has a Schengen visa. All others should contact the consulate with the appropriate application. The peculiarity of the departure of children to this country lies in the fact that in order to obtain a visa it is necessary to prove the relationship of children and parents, even if their surnames coincide. Therefore, a birth certificate is required.

Another caveat - for a positive decision on the issue of permission to enter Bulgaria, parents will have to attach to the package of documents a medical certificate form 086-U, which will contain information about the health of their son or daughter.

Visa to Romania can be obtained according to all applicable rules. There are not so many features of document processing in this country: you need to get a health insurance for the child, which will cover the entire period of stay of the children in the country, as well as the transit time. In addition, the application form for obtaining an entry permit should be made out for the child separately, even if it is entered in the parents passport.

Until 2013 in Croatia Russians did not need visas, but the country has joined the EU, and now the visa-free regime is a thing of the past. You can enter the country either with a Croatian visa or with a valid Schengen visa.

To Asian countries

Asian countries are divided into those that do not require a visa or put it on arrival, and to those in which you must issue an entry document in advance. If you are going to go to Vietnam for 15 days (no more!), Then you do not need a visa at all, the same rule applies to trips to Laos, Hong Kong and Indonesia. In Malaysia, in the Maldives and Macau, you can stay for a month without a visa. The same term for tourists is allocated by the authorities of Thailand. For two months without a visa, you can go to South Korea.

If you are going to Myanmar or Nepal, then you will have to apply for a visa, but upon arrival at your destination. Nepalese visa for children under 10 years is completely free.

In some Asian countries, it is possible to linger for a while, getting a transit short-term visa right at the airport. For example, in Brunei - for 72 hours. In China, depending on the airport, you can stay from 24 to 72 hours without a visa.

Recently, Asian countries are increasingly expressing the desire to create their analogue of Schengen - a visa that will allow its holder to travel to Asian regions with a single permit.

Provision

The provision is not a type of visa, it is just a document that indicates a prior authorization to stay in the country.. This information is relevant for those who are going to visit Cyprus with a child. In general, Russia and Cyprus have a visa regime, but the provision makes it much easier to enter this country.

It can be issued via the Internet, no need to go anywhereas there will be no lengthy epic collection of documents. It is issued for free. The stamp itself in the passport will be stamped upon arrival in Cyprus.

Registration of provisions takes about an hour, it does not require mandatory confirmation of the duration of stay, it is not necessary to show the purchased air tickets there and back. After you have sent the application, you will receive a document by e-mail, which will be enough to print and take with you or give to the child if he travels without parents.

The provision on Cyprus does not operate from the moment it is received, but from the moment it enters the republic. You have to rest and other goals will be 90 days. Then Cyprus will have to leave and it will be possible to return to it only after six months, once again receiving the provision.

Having a visa from one state may result in denial of entry to another state.

If you travel with your child often or plan to do so as often as possible, remember that in some countries you may be denied entry if you have visas of a number of other states. So, if you are going to Libya, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria and several other Arab countries and you have an Israeli visa in your passport, then you will not only be banned from entering, but may also cancel your national visa. Under the "hot hand" will get those who have visited countries bordering the Promised Land - Jordan and Egypt.

On the Georgian border, a previously issued visa is canceled for those who visited Abkhazia and South Ossetia. If traveling to these countries were made from Russia, then there is nothing to worry about, since our country has a visa-free regime with these countries.

Cost of

The cost of a visa, as mentioned above, is different in each country. Most countries are completely exempted from paying the consular collection of children under 6 years old. Germany, Poland, Austria, the Netherlands and a number of other states do not take money from children up to 12 years. Estonia, Latvia, Sweden, Portugal, France, Spain and the Czech Republic charge a consular fee for children from 6 to 12 years old. He is 35-40evro.

The price of visas to countries with a special visa regime, which are affixed upon arrival, usually range from 15 to 35 euros.
