Anger on the child's gums

Content

In babies, diseases of the oral cavity appear quite often, because in the first years of life, they actively cut their teeth, and children constantly pull various objects into their mouths. Attentive mothers and fathers immediately notice if there is something wrong with the child’s mouth, for example, a strange growth on the gum appears. Why does such education arise and how to get rid of it?

What is it

Most often, parents are faced with a situation where a red growth appears on the child’s gums. Such education can cause discomfort in children and interfere with food intake, and sometimes it bleeds, but it happens that the growth of red color does not bother the baby.

Also, many children can form a white outgrowth of a rather dense structure.

Any unknown growth in the mouth of a child is a cause for concern, even if it does not cause discomfort.

Causes of

An imbalance on the gum in a child may arise

  • When teething a new tooth. As a rule, in infants before the appearance of the first tooth in the mouth, a small growth first appears. Also, a growth can appear over a baby tooth, when the time of eruption is constant, and the milky tooth has not fallen out. In such a situation, the molar tries to cut higher, which at first looks like a growth.
  • With untreated caries, if the infection has penetrated the deep tissues of the tooth and caused such a complication as periodontitis. When it is in the gum tissue, pus is formed, which, in search of a way out, forms a red lump under the mucous membrane. Gradually, a white dot appears in the center of such growth, and then it becomes purulent and, if left untreated, bursts, resulting in a hole (fistula) in the gum.
  • Due to an injury, for example, if a child has hit the gum, scratched it with something sharp, its bite is broken or the seal is incorrectly installed. In such a situation, the baby has an education called epulis or suprapus. This is a benign growth that does not bother the crumb and does not hurt if you press on it. It is reddish, soft to the touch and with a rough surface, and when pressed it can bleed. This epulis is called angiomatous. There is also a fibrous supra gum, which is a dense rounded or oval growth that does not bleed when pressed. Less common is the giant cell shape, which is distinguished by its red and blue color and roughness, as well as by the ease of traumatization.
  • When a cyst appears on the gum. Such a growth will be with a fairly dense structure, since there is often fluid inside the cyst, and an unpleasant smell can emanate from the child’s mouth.
  • With the development of tumors on the gums. Although quite rare, but the growth of the child may be a symptom of cancer.
A nod on the gum may appear if a baby has a new tooth coming out soon.

What to do

It is impossible to ignore the appearance of any formations on the gums of a child, therefore, when a growth appears, the baby should immediately be shown to the dentist. Only a qualified doctor can determine why the child has such a problem and how to properly treat it. Any folk remedies can only be used as a supplement to the treatment prescribed by the dentist.

If the doctor finds out that the growth is represented by a tooth erupting, he will only give recommendations on oral hygiene and elimination of discomfort manifestations of the eruption process. If an infection caused the growth, the dentist will immediately begin to treat the teeth in order to prevent its spreading in the oral cavity.

With deep infection of the roots of the milk tooth, in most cases the tooth itself is removed so that bacteria do not penetrate to the germ of the permanent tooth.

In a situation where the growth was a cyst that interferes with the child, its removal is most often performed. In addition, a cyst can be inflamed and infected, which is also a reason to remove it until such time as such a formation becomes a source of infection in the mouth. Surgical treatment is also resorted to when an epulis is detected.
