The drug is effective against most bacteria that can cause diarrhea. It helps in the fight against Shigella, Campylobacter, Escherichia, Clostridia, Vibrios and other microorganisms.

At the same time, bacteria that belong to the normal intestinal microflora, under the influence of "Stopdiar" do not die. On the contrary, taking this medication helps to restore their number and maintain balance.

Indications

The main reason for the use of "Stopdiar" in children is diarrhea caused by pathogenic bacteria. The medication is used if the diarrhea is mild or moderate, and the general condition of the child is not disturbed (with elevated body temperature and other symptoms of intoxication, another treatment is required).

"Stopdiar" can also be administered during infection with enteroviruses or with rotavirus, if such an infection has led to loose stools and vomiting. The reason for the use of drugs for viral bowel disease is the prevention of bacterial complications.

From what age is prescribed?

The liquid form of "Stopdiar" is contraindicated in newborns, therefore it is prescribed to children older than 1 month.
