Vibrocilage analogs for children

Content

With a cold in children, medications with vasoconstrictor and antiallergic action are often used, one of which is Vibrocil. Such a medicine in drops allowed for children older than a year and is often found in appointments of ENT doctors and pediatricians.

However, sometimes it is not possible to use this drug, so moms are interested in no less effective means that can replace it. Due to the high price of Vibrocil, many parents are looking for cheaper medicines. What drugs are considered adequate analogues of this tool?

Composition and action

Vibrocil contains two active compounds at once, thanks to which the medicine quickly helps to get rid of rhinitis. One of them is phenylephrine - a substance capable of activating the adrenoreceptors in the vessels, due to which the vessels narrow and the swelling of the nasal mucosa decreases. The second component is dimetinden, which has the property to influence histamine receptors, so it has antiallergic effect.

When is prescribed?

The use of Vibrocil is especially in demand for various types of rhinitis, including chronic and allergic. You can not prescribe this medication only in atrophic form, as well as in ozen.

ENT doctors often use Vibrocil in sinusitis and otitis media, and they also recommend treating the nose with this medicine before surgery in the nasal area and after such surgical treatment. If a child has a heightened sensitivity to any ingredient of the drug or has glaucoma in a closed-angle form, it is prohibited to use any form of Vibrocil.

Analogues in composition

A completely identical drug, which has the same composition as Vibrocil, is not produced in Russia or abroad.

At the same time in the treatment of rhinitis, you can use drugs that contain only phenylephrine, for example, drops Nazol Baby. They are allowed to children from birth.

You can also replace Vibrocil by other combined medicines, one of the components of which is phenylephrine:

  • Children's drops Adrianol. The second active ingredient in them is trimazolin. Such an inexpensive drug is prescribed for 3 years with sinusitis or a cold. The drug is also available in a higher dosage, but it is permissible to bury such drops only for children over 7 years old.
  • Syrup Rinopront. Carbinoxamine is added to phenylephrine in its composition. The medicine is given for nasopharyngitis or acute sinusitis in children who are 1 year old or older. The drug is produced in the form of capsules, but because of the high dosage they are not prescribed until the age of 12.

Analogs for action

Instead of Vibrocil, you can use other medicines that have a vasoconstrictor effect.

Most in demand:

  • Nazivin. The main component of this drug is oxymetazoline. The drug is represented by drops with different content of the active substance, as well as spray. Drops with a concentration of 0.01% can be used in children, even in infancy, and drops of 0.025% - in children older than a year. A child 6 years old and older can drop a drop of 0.05% or nasivin spray the nose.
  • Otrivin. This medicine contains xylometazoline and is available in spray. Its concentration of 0.05% is prescribed for rhinitis in children older than 2 years, and a spray of 0.01% is allowed from the age of twelve.
  • Sanorin. Such naphazoline-based drops are used in children from the age of two. The drug is also released in the spray, but it can be introduced into the nasal passages for children from 15 years of age.
  • Snoop. This xylometazoline-containing spray is available in two different concentrations. The drug with a 0.05% active substance content is permitted from 2 years of age, and a drug with a concentration of 0.01% is prescribed to a six-year-old child and older children.
  • Knoxpray. The basis of this drug is oxymetazoline. This spray can be used in children from six years of age.
  • Xylen. This medicine contains Xylometazoline and is prescribed to children over 2 years old (drops or spray 0.05%) or over 6 years old (spray or drops 0.1%).

It is important to note that any vasoconstrictor drugs for the treatment of a child should be selected together with the doctor and applied in a short course in order not to cause addiction and medical rhinitis. It is not necessary to replace Vibrocil as prescribed by a doctor with any other medicine.
