Sialor Protargol for children: instructions for use

Content

A runny nose is a very unpleasant symptom that is difficult for children. For his treatment used a variety of medications, including those from the group of antiseptics. One of them is Sialor Protargol.

Release form

The drug is represented by two dosage forms - drops and spray. The difference between them is only in a glass or plastic bottle, which is inside the package, more precisely, in the device and the shape of its cap.

If you buy drops, you will see a glass pipette in the lid of such a bottle, and in the Sialor Protargol package, in the form of a spray, there is a spray device on the top of the lid, which is closed with a cap.

In both cases, the bottle is sold empty. Together with him in the box is a plastic ampoule containing 10 ml of solvent, as well as a blister with one round brown-black tablet. Such a tablet may have a blue tint or metallic luster. It does not smell, and after dilution forms a clear brown solution. It is completely dark or lighter, sometimes with opalescence.

Composition

The main ingredient of the tablet in the composition of "Sialor Protargol" is called silver proteinate. Its amount is 200 mg, so that after dilution a solution with a concentration of 2% is obtained.

The weight of the entire tablet is 220 mg, because the silver compound complements a substance called polyvinyl-N-pyrrolidone. It is a soluble polymer necessary for binding and better dissolution of the active ingredient. The solvent used for the preparation of therapeutic 2% solution from a tablet is ordinary purified water. There are no preservatives in this preparation.

Operating principle

The silver proteinate present in Sialor Protargol is a compound with antiseptic and antibacterial action. Treatment of the mucous membrane with a solution of this substance helps to protect the nasal cavity from infectious agents. The agent has an astringent effect, due to which the permeability of the mucous membrane to bacteria, viruses and other pathogens decreases.

The antimicrobial effect of Sialor on the basis of silver is associated with the ability of the drug to prevent the penetration of bacteria into the mucous membrane and directly affect certain types of pathogens, preventing their active reproduction in the respiratory tract. The drug affects staphylococcus, moraccella and streptococcus, as well as fungal flora.
