Analogs Erespala for children

Content

Attention! Erespal (cough) removed from circulation throughout the country. It turned out to be dangerous for children.

«Erespal»In demand for various diseases of the respiratory system, since such a drug affects the respiratory tract in several ways. It is produced in two forms (syrup and tablets in the shell), but in childhood only a liquid version of the drug is prescribed, which is a brown-yellow, sweet transparent liquid. Such "Erespal" is sold in plastic bottles containing 150 or 250 ml of medicine.

However, in some situations, the use of Erespal is impossible, for example, if the child reacted to the syrup with an allergic rash or the medication was not found in the nearest pharmacy. In this case, the parents are interested in which analogs can be replaced and which of similar drugs is best to choose.

Composition and action

The drug contains fenspiride hydrochloride at a dosage of 2 mg in one milliliter. This ingredient determines the main healing effects of Erespal:

  • Reduced inflammation. This effect of the drug is associated with antagonism in relation to substances that are formed in the body during an inflammatory or allergic reaction. The drug blocks histamine receptors and also affects the formation of bradykinin, leukotrienes, serotonin and other compounds.
  • Prevention of bronchospasm. Under the action of "Erespal" the smooth muscles of the bronchi relax, if they are already spasmed. In addition, the active substance of the syrup helps prevent spasms of smooth muscles in various diseases of the respiratory system (this effect is called anti-bronchoconstrictor).
  • Reduction of puffiness of the mucous membrane. This effect of the drug is called antiexudative. Thanks to him, the intake of syrup helps to remove the already existing mucosal edema or prevent its development at the onset of the disease.
  • Effect on bronchial mucous secretion. Since fenspiride also affects alpha1-adrenoreceptors, the use of Erespal affects the secretion of mucus in the bronchial cells. The result of this effect will be a decrease in viscosity of sputum, which will improve its coughing.

In order for the syrup to remain liquid and not deteriorate during the entire shelf life (it is 3 years, and no special conditions are needed for storing the medicine), it contains glycerin, purified water, parabens and potassium sorbate. For a pleasant aroma, honey flavor and vanilla tincture are added to the medicine, and the sweet taste of the medication is provided with sucrose and saccharin.

When is it used in children?

Syrup is prescribed to young patients older than two years with various pathologies of the respiratory tract, which are manifested by hoarseness, barking, wet or dry cough, nasal discharge, sore throat and other respiratory symptoms. The reason to assign "Erespal" to a child is:

  • bronchitis;
  • ARVI;
  • rhinopharyngitis;
  • bronchial asthma;
  • laryngotracheitis;
  • flu;
  • adenoiditis;
  • otitis;
  • tracheitis;
  • sinusitis;
  • measles;
  • whooping cough and other diseases.

Analogues in composition

If Erespal is not available at the pharmacy, it can be replaced with any other medicine that is also provided with fenspiride. Such a replacement is in demand and if you want to save money, since all Erespal analogues are a bit cheaper (the average price for 150 ml of syrup is 270 rubles). In the form of a syrup, such drugs are produced based on fenspiride hydrochloride:

  • Russian drug "Eladon";
  • Polish medicine "Siresp»;
  • Epistat preparation from the Hungarian company Gedeon Richter;
  • Sandoz productErispirusFrom Slovenia.

The concentration of fenspiride in all these medicines is the same as in Erespal - 2 mg / ml, so they are used for the same indications and are also allowed from the age of two.

Analogs with a similar action

If a child has an allergy to “Erespal” or the drug has proved ineffective, the doctor will select an analog among drugs that are used for the same disease and have a similar effect on the patient's body.

Ambroxol preparations

Such drugs have the ability to influence the formation of bronchial secretions, so they are referred to as mucolytic agents. Under the influence of ambroxol, sputum polysaccharides change their structure, and glycoproteins are more actively synthesized, which leads to a more liquid state of the secret and facilitate coughing. In addition, ambroxol-based preparations stimulate the ciliated epithelium so that its cilia move more actively, which also helps the sputum release.

These drugs include:

Herbal preparations

Extracts of some plants have mucolytic, anti-inflammatory and expectorant effects, which allows them to be used for bronchitis, laryngitis and other diseases. In addition, they are considered by many parents to be safer for babies, therefore, they are highly in demand when children cough. Among the drugs with a herbal base, similar to Erespal, the doctor may prescribe the following remedies.

  • Prospan. This product contains an extract of ivy leaves. In syrup, it is allowed from birth, and in drops - from two years. Its counterpart is Gadelix, which is also represented by syrup and drops.

  • "Sinekod". The action of this drug provides butamirate. The drug is administered in drops from two months of age, and the syrup is used in children 3 years and older.

  • «Bronholitin». This medication includes ephedrine, supplemented with glaucine. At children's age he is appointed from 3 years, and analogues of this syrup are the preparations "Bronhoton" and "Bronhotsin".

Other medicines that have an effect on the respiratory tract can also be used instead of Erespal. eg:

  • «Ascoril». The composition of this syrup includes bromhexine, supplemented by a combination of guaifenesin and salbutamol. It is prescribed to children older than 1 year.
