Is it possible to give the child raw water?

Content

Water is a vital compound for a person, so every adult drinks it daily and consumes products with its high content. But when it comes to babies, there are always questions about whether such small children need water and what kind of water it should be. It is also important for young mothers to know whether raw water is dangerous for babies and what to do if a crumb has eaten it while bathing.

From what age to give

Children need water from birth, but controversy is constantly underway with regard to feeding babies. Definitely say whether it is required by the newborn will not work.

To do this, first consider the type of feeding:

  • If the baby receives breast milk, it is not only food for the baby, but also a drink. For this reason, the infant baby may not get enough to 4-5 months of age. Moreover, if you give the newborn baby breast-fed water extra, it can adversely affect lactation and even provoke chest failure. Starting to give it to healthy babies is advised along with the start of complementary foods, when the baby is six months old.
  • An infant under the age of 6 months, who is fed on breast milk, is required in some situations. Many pediatricians, including Dr. Komarovsky, insist on the need to feed babies with frequent regurgitation, vomiting, diarrhea, or high fever, as well as when staying in a dry and warm room. Such situations can lead to rapid dehydration, so additional liquid for the crumbs is very important.
  • The bottle-fed infant should begin to give water immediately after birth, offering it in the form of heat after feeding the mixture. The amount for a particular baby should be checked with the pediatrician. On average, for a child of the first months of life, he is 100-200 ml per day.
Adding babies with water is necessary for bottle-feeding and the sickness of the baby

Requirements

Any child should receive only clean water. For this reason, its use in its raw form, in which there are chlorine compounds, harmful bacteria and other dangerous components, is not recommended for infants and children older than one year. Even if it is passed through a cleaning filter, it is suitable for adults, but should not be used for baby food.

Give children water:

  • Special for children (bottled).
  • From artesian sources.
  • Boiled.
  • Mineral
A child of any age should be given only purified water.

Do not give water to babies:

  • From the well.
  • Sweet
  • From the open pond.
  • Carbonated.

If a child accidentally drank boiled water, for example, swallowed it a little out of the bath when bathing, in most cases it does not pose a danger to it. Carefully observe the condition of the crumbs, and with alarming symptoms, contact your pediatrician.
